Because of the economic downturn, Sponsorship to the 3rd UBC Women's Conference is left up to each local. FUNDRAISING efforts are underway for Sisters whose locals may not be able to afford to SPONSOR them. The official DATE of the UBC Women's Conference is Thursday, June 17, 2010 thru Saturday, June 20, 2010. The official COST will be $273 for the Conference (including food). If staying onsite at the ITC include an additional $327 for a total of $600.00. A website (ubcsisters.org) is under development for Sisters to receive complete details, including the LAST DAY TO REGISTER. The Hilton Hotel, which is in close proximity to the International Training Center, is offering to match the price of $327 for lodging. At this time, the ONLY SHUTTLES PROVIDED will be from the ITC to the airport. Transportation from miscellaneous hotels, will have to be secured by each attendee at their own cost. The $600 conference fee does NOT include airfare. Each prospective Conference Registrant is encouraged to make their travel arrangements at their earliest convenience. The International Women's Conference Planning Committee would like to encourage each local to sponsor all or a portion of Conference costs for as many Sisters as can be afforded, who shows an earnest interest in attending. In addition to any support received from local unions, there will also be fundraising efforts by the UBC Women’s Planning Committee in each region. In solidarity to support the UBC efforts in organizing, educating, and providing Union Leadership Workshops to our Sister Members, we are asking each local, and each member at each local, to back our efforts to attend this 3rd UBC Women's Conference.
